Community Chest 3 contained wrong packages

A friendly note by one of our members brought to my attention that the Community Chest 3 contained the wrong packages. The initially published package was one of our test files we used during beta testing of our new component Ninja Extension central. I repackaged it, but forgot about the PHP option upload_max_filesize, i.e. the Community Chest 3 was too big and was not saved correctly.

I did now split Chest 3 into two packages [1] and. [2], that fit the max upload size.
My apologies to all our members that downloaded the wrong packaged Community Chest.

Ninja Extension Central Now Official Online

Dear NinjaForge Members and those who want to become Ninjas.

Many of our members surely know the problems they had, directly after signing up to NinjaForge. The first shock: Can't download :'(

This horrible situation began after an upgrade of our account managing software AEC, that suddenly did no more group assignment to the download manager Remository on an automatic PayPal subscription. So we had to assign every single user to the appropriate Remository groups by hand.

We had a lot of feedback at our forums on this issue and we really tried to be very fast in fixing accounts. But sometimes it's not possible, because humans needs to sleep, rest or to do sports for balance. One cannot work nonstop all the time.

We worked very hard on our new extension manager Ninja Extension Central and finally switched it official online today, after an extensive beta testing and tuning phase. We hope that those download issues now are things of the past.

The new download manager has a technically mature and powerful search function. Finding the needed extension is now pretty easy and time saving.

Have A Lot Of Fun.

Bug Fix Release For NinjaXplorer

Hi all together.

Today we published a bug fix release for the component NinjaXplorer.

There was a bug resulting in linking all images to the administrator directory. This has now been fixed, so the NinjaXplorer now links all immages correctly.

Joomla book for Coda

Steven Frank, co-founder of Panic, tweeted not long ago about "Eight custom books for Coda, with nice covers! http://tinyurl.com/6pshn4".

Since we couldn't found any Joomla books there, I decided to create a cover and post how you add the official Joomla documentation as a book in Coda.

Book Title: Joomla

Book URL: http://docs.joomla.org/

Cover Image

Use For Mode: N/A

Search URL: http://docs.joomla.org/Special:Search?search=*&fulltext=Search

The template PSD of the book cover (made by Ray Brown) is found here.

Two More Extensions Now In German

Our German community is growing very well since the past few months. So we decided to translate all our extensions. We currently can offer three of our extensions with German language support and as we Germans say: "All good things are three." :)

1. NinjACL for Joomla! 1.0.15 (published Aug. 13th, 2008)
2. Ninja Super Submit 1.0 RC3 (published Nov. 9th, 2008)
3. Ninja SUper sIFR 1.1.0 (published Nov. 8th, 2008)

Two of them are recently published minor updates that contain some bug fixes, but while fixing them I directly translated their language packs. NinjACL was initially published with German language support, because I am the developer of it. But unfortunately I had no time for translating our other software. Now that I am the first full time Ninja, we have many more resources.

Due to the fact that our German community at NinjaForge is still growing, we also talked about German sub forums for support, but were not sure if that would really be necessary. So feedback from our German members on this topic would be very appreciated. (Gerne auch in deutsch. ;) )

At the time I think that at least 1 extension per week will be translated to German language, but can't promise that. What I can promise is at least one per month!

OK, that's all for now.
