JS at the bottom is generally good.

It's amazing how many misunderstandings that can happen when you have to limit your message within 140 characters.

So instead of continuing this on twitter, I'll make my statements on the sprites, placement of Javascript in your document and that, very clear.

For one, all in for sprite sheets. Hell, if you take a look at the front page of this blog and take a closer look at the "Read More" buttons, you'll see that they are in sprite sheets.

Ninjaboard Beta Release Today

We proudly announce the initial beta release of our new Joomla! 1.5 native forum extension today. After a long and hard ride of template design, code reorganizing, optimization and securing of our Joo!BB fork, we are finally online.

Our first tests have shown, that this beta version runs quite stable and in in most of the cases does what it's intended to. Feel free to download[1] and put this smart new forum extension to the acid test. The front end demo is available under [2].

Feedback and especially feature requests are greatly appreciated!

Best Regards
Uwe Walter

Which resulted in an inevitable response from Joomla's number 1 cheerleader which descended into a slightly unprofessional tit for tat.

Before I get any further I want to make two points clear:

1. Sorry for the slip in professionalism to our members who expect better from us. The person making those posts has apologized profusely to me, and I shall to you on their behalf, but to be honest I back his feelings though not necessarily the course of action.

2. We have a lot of respect and appreciation for the JED team and the work they do regardless of our frustration. I am well aware that it is difficult to volunteer all the time indefinitely and the failures of Apple in regards to the iPhone queue show us that even throwing lots and lots of money at a problem won't necessarily fix it.

However, this situation has prompted me to speak on some things that I feel are important.
