Follow up:

I assure you I love Ninjoomla as much as anyone but there are a few valid reasons.

Firstly, it no longer reflects our multi CMS focus. We aren't just Joomla Ninjas anymore.

Secondly, we will be starting many sites in our little Ninja family, and all of them will bear the same Name style - Ninja {something}. So we felt it was important to keep the trend and the brand consistent.

Thirdly, Open Source Matters, has now decided that trade marks matter and that you need their permission to use the word joomla in your website name or domain. Permission they can revoke at any time.

This is a bit of an about face from their original stance after the fork which was to encourage people to get rid of their Mambo site and get a Joomla one as quickly as possible.

To use the Joomla Logo or name on your site you need to register it with OSM and ask their permission.

Now we could have our site pulled out from under us at any time with a cease and desist order.

I won't argue with them on the need to protect their trademark, as a businessman I understand that. But in order for us to keep using the name Ninjoomla we must agree that:

..our (OSM's) rights to the Joomla! trademark are valid and superior to yours..

Which means that we can never completely feel secure that we hold the trademark to our own company.

I am sure you will all agree that not bing secure in holding onto your own trademark is not a
good position for a company to be in.

So all in all it was a decision that needed to be made.

So onto the fun stuff!

There will be a new template for the site, a new layout, a new download manager and lots of other nifty stuff.
